Age: 15 16 (circa October 1994)
Physical Appearance: Lilac skin, with magenta lips and pointed, elf-like ears. Her hair, also magenta, sweeps naturally back into a wild, spiky style, and her eyes – lacking pupil or iris, tinted a uniform milky blue-white – are surrounded by triangular markings in the same color. Two small triangles above each eye, one larger down her left cheek, and a narrow diamond between her eyebrows.
Education: High school sophomore junior

Sexual Preference: Hasn’t really had the opportunity to explore.

Character Biography:

History: Born in the Bahamas, Clarice moved to Miami, Florida, with her parents when she was four – they hoped Miami, with its larger mutant population, would be a place she could live and socialize at least somewhat normally despite her inhuman appearance. In that, they were partially right: she was at least able to attend public school, though obvious mutants were still a tiny minority and uneasily tolerated at best. She had at least a couple of close friends, as well as her parents, who loved her dearly, but – always undersized and unwilling to stand up for herself – she was an easy target for bullying and ostracism. When she was twelve, things abruptly got more serious, when she and one of her friends (also a mutant) were waylaid on their way home from school by a gang of anti-mutant extremists. The last thing she remembers is watching, dizzy from their blows, as their leader beat her friend mercilessly. Frantically she reached out to grab his arm, knowing her small hand would never be able to stop him – and something flared inside her. Several hours later, she woke up cold and alone in a pool of blood and… other things. Everyone was gone except that man, and he was in pieces all around her. Horrified, she began to scream.

After that incident, things got even worse; even her few friends began avoiding her after the one told them what had happened, and he never spoke to her again. Though her parents still loved her, they were afraid of her. Worst of all, she was terrified of herself, and determined to never, ever, ever use her powers again. That vow lasted for three years, until she was kidnapped by the Phalanx Covenant along with the other Generation X mutants. Furious at the realization of what Harvest and his kindred intended to do to mutants and all humankind, desperate – again – to save her new friends, she used her spatial bending abilities to get them out of the way and then ‘blinked’ Harvest out of existence. In the process, she was caught up in her own powers and (apparently) also destroyed.

How Others Perceive Your Character: Quiet and meek, harmless, younger than her years, needing reassurance and protection

Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: Clarice wants friends; she has a trusting heart and she wants to believe in people, wants to love and be loved. She had once vowed never, ever to use her power on a living thing again, but her experience with the Phalanx proved to her that there are circumstances that can bring her to throw away that vow.

Reason(s) for Escaping to Canada: She arrived here somehow after sacrificing herself to destroy the Phalanx creature called Harvest.

Their Dreams, Hopes, and Aspirations for Canada: Only to be able to live as herself, to be normal, and to find friends. She also wants to learn how to use her powers properly, so as never to accidentally hurt anyone again, but she isn’t sure that’s possible, as her gift seems out of her control and able only to destroy.
